About

Advanced Dermatology of Alaska

AURORA is built and operated by Advanced Dermatology of Alaska, a board-certified dermatology practice serving communities across the state.

The operator

Specialty dermatology, rooted in Alaska

Advanced Dermatology of Alaska provides board-certified medical and procedural dermatology to patients across Alaska. AURORA grew out of a simple reality the practice sees every day: too many Alaskans live too far from specialty skin care. AURORA is the practice's answer, a structured way to extend that expertise to rural and remote communities through local partner sites and teledermatology.

Clinical leadership

Andrew Dorizas, MD, FAAD

Dr. Dorizas is a board-certified dermatologist and the founder of Advanced Dermatology of Alaska. He leads AURORA as Principal Investigator and clinical lead, setting the program's clinical standards and directing its hub-and-spoke model.

The hubs

AURORA's dermatology hubs are operated by Advanced Dermatology of Alaska:

  • Anchorage
  • Wasilla
  • Juneau
  • Fairbanks, in development as the Interior hub

How it fits together

The practice runs the hubs, AURORA runs the network

Advanced Dermatology of Alaska operates the clinical hubs and provides the dermatology expertise. AURORA is the rural access network that connects local spoke sites to those hubs.
